Eleanor Antin wonderful performance: A Traditional Sculpture was made in 1972 questioning the beauty standars and creating a parallel between the women's body with the marbel made sculptures.
Whilst developing my thesis dissertation I thought of being that sculpture and living it in my own flesh and bones. This was the result of 3 weeks of diet and extreme exercise.
Wrinkles, the nightmare of a woman's age. Botox, the illusion of youth. A serie of photos were wrinkles are seen as the beauty in the face, a declaration of a personal experience and the universal human condition.
I grew up watching Victoria Models and Hollywood stars in the channel E! As all or most of the women in my generation. I wanted to be like them.

The photographical performance responds to a critique to this beauty stars that we longed so much to become. Paris Hilton's neck, Jessica Alba's abs, Nicole Kidman's skin, etc..

Famouse french artist Orlan transformed her body with surgery with renaissance beauty concepts : as the Leonardo DaVinci's Monalisa's forehad and the Venu's of Boticelli's chin.
Without a surgery I thought of painting their names in my body as a constant reminder of what I am supposed to be.
Morrisey, I do, some of drama. Transforming a painful relationship into art. Once I saw a beautiful piece of art that reminded me my marriage: it was a Wreath full of black roses and the inscription " Until death do us art"

I thought of my broken marriage and this photographical born. I ripped out a The Smiths T-shirt and repaire it with a blue tread and a needle. A symbolism of what my love became.
